Casting A Future

Casting is one of the oldest of building processes and, despite the marvels of modernity, never loses a glimpse of alchemy.

The Tech Wolves casting program is starting around green sand casting and aluminum.

There are worlds to explore and learn before seeing something melt and become a newness.

Metallurgy, chemistry, 3d modeling, 3d printing, thermodynamics, and more.

The casting process is magic and most of it is something anyone can do with proper resources and direction. The part that is traditionally the is the most important is that of making the master. This is the object the mold is made from. 3d printing provides an accessible way for students to take on that role. One can make molds from most anything but with some 3d modeling and a printer, they can create something unique to them while in the process of engaging with dynamic science at work.
