If not now, when?

Traditional classroom education is a broken process. Testing is not measuring what it should but curricular responses are increasingly focused on the knowledge to access specific tests and not the best pedagogical approaches to learning and development of all educational stake holders. Institutions and individuals have been challenging the status quo while championing more effective approaches to learning while staying true to standards and testable elements but they are heard on the fringes or in the circles of privilege. People are rightfully worried about their children’s health and well being in more directions than usual. Learning practices that engage intrinsic motivation and challenge the individual to grow with the supports of a class cross distances, ages, races, skills, etc. They offer much during an “at distance” time and really should be at the front of our response to present problems. We have been champions of such methods and have had the privilege of facilitating what we have learned with the reward of practices that are more effective at each iteration. One of our goals in the Tech Wolves organization is get as much curricular and learning resources out, with a particular focus on what kids in Shelby County, Tennessee could use.
